Summary:
DXP | IPS is seeking skilled medics to be apart of our team for this upcoming Spring/Summer Wildfire Season . Join our on-call list today!
The Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) will provide immediate Advanced Life Support medical care when summoned without delay, properly triage, advise and/or arrange for timely transport the health care facility as needed.
We have long-term and short-term projects and currently hiring for wildfire deployment.
Ability to choose long-term and short-term projects.
Small, local work opportunities for individuals.
2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotation.
Shifts include days, nights, and weekends.
Work hours typically range from 10 to 12 hours per day.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Read, understand and comply with IPS's Medical Control Guidelines, Safety Policies and Job Procedures, as well as all applicable government laws and regulations;
Work within their applicable job scope of practice determined by their licensing body and under the medical control of the Medical Director, utilizing the IPS Medical Control Guidelines;
Always act in a manner that ensures the patient's dignity, safety, privacy and confidentiality;
Ensure that injured workers are provided with immediate and professional on-site medical care and to advise and/or arrange timely transport to additional medical care as needed.
Perform other duties as directed by your supervisor
Safety Responsibilities:
Be familiar with and work in accordance with health and safety legislation and company policies and procedures;
Take reasonable care to use safety and personal protective equipment as required by health and safety legislation and company policies and procedures;
Report to IPS Supervision and Management immediately after any incident or condition believed to be hazardous to worker's health and/or safety;
Refuse work if danger is imminent or not controlled.
Requirements
Current (unrestricted) registration as a Paramedic with the Alberta College of Paramedics
Valid class 4 driver’s license with clean abstract.
H2S & CSO
Previous Paramedic experience
Previous industrial experience is an asset.
