Under the supervision of a Speech and Language Pathologist, this position allows you to gain real-world experience while supporting the literacy and language growth of KDFN students from kindergarten to grade 12. You will prepare culturally appropriate therapy materials and work with families and educators to ensure effective support. Ideal for those currently in a diploma program for Speech and Language Pathology Assistant studies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in individual and group language therapy sessions
• Create culturally responsive materials for therapy
• Collaborate with Elders, educators, and families
• Support language development and literacy in students
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development
Requirements:
• Certificate/Diploma in related health or education field
• Experience or coursework in child development is a plus
• Background in person-centered case management is beneficial
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Familiarity with KDFN culture and community dynamics needed
Contribute to the KDFN community through dedicated support in language and literacy.
