Become an integral member of the Edmonton Zone Anatomic Pathology team as a Laboratory Technologist I, predominantly stationed at Sturgeon Hospital. This full-time role encompasses an extensive range of technical procedures vital to diagnostic efforts.
In this position, you will perform essential tasks such as grossing, embedding specimens, and processing diagnostic samples across multiple sites. Your experience in Anatomic Pathology will play a key role in supporting quality patient care, troubleshooting instruments, and guiding learners in a diverse laboratory team. Adaptability and strong organizational skills are crucial for thriving in this environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform specialized procedures in Anatomical Pathology
• Process and analyze diagnostic specimens accurately
• Conduct routine checks and maintain lab equipment
• Lead educational sessions for students
• Handle on-call responsibilities for urgent cases
Requirements:
• Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Technology program
• CMLTA registration or eligibility status
• Experience in grossing and Anatomic Pathology processes
• Proficiency in Laboratory Information Systems
• Excellent problem-solving and time management abilities
