· Permanent, Full-Time or Part-Time
· Paid on billables · [split determined upon hire]
If you came into this profession for your hands and your reasoning — and you have watched both get squeezed out by stacked schedules and a modality room — read on.
Summit Physiotherapy has been St. Albert’s physiotherapy and massage therapy clinic for over 42 years. We are locally owned, we are busy, and we have built a reputation on one thing: personalized, hands‑on care at every visit. Our therapists carry over 148 years of combined experience between them, and most have been practising for more than two decades. People come here and stay — clients and staff both.
We are looking for a competent, knowledgeable, outgoing and motivated physiotherapist to join us on a permanent full‑time or part‑time basis. There is ample caseload waiting.
This is a hands‑on clinic. What that means in practice:care is centred on myofascial release, acupuncture, IMS, manual therapy, and exercise therapy. You treat one client at a time, using your own clinical reasoning and hands‑on skill — not passing treatment off to an aide or a machine. If you want to deepen genuine manual skill in a supportive, experienced clinic, this is the right fit.
The CaseloadMostly active clients with a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions. You will see:
Sports injuries — acute and overuse, across running, hockey, pickleball, gym and field sport.
Motor vehicle accident injuries — including whiplash and the associated third‑party documentation.
Post‑surgical rehabilitation — arthroplasty, ligament reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, spinal surgery.
Chronic and persistent pain, including fibromyalgia and long‑standing presentations.
The everyday aches, strains, sprains and joint problems of an active St. Albert population.
Our client base is largely private payers, with third‑party funding alongside. We direct bill almost all benefit plans, including ASEBP, Blue Cross and most major insurers.
What You’ll Be Doing Assessment & Clinical ReasoningFull subjective and objective assessment — the time to actually do one properly.
A working diagnosis, a differential, and a plan of care the client understands and agrees to.
Red flag screening and appropriate referral when necessary
Hands‑On TreatmentMyofascial release and soft tissue technique as core treatment
Manual therapy — mobilization, and manipulation if you are authorized.
Acupuncture and IMS where you hold College authorization and it is indicated.
Shockwave, ultrasound and TENS as reasoned adjuncts — never as the plan itself.
Exercise Therapy & EducationIndividualized home programs that are taught, checked and progressed — not printed and handed over.
Return‑to‑sport, return‑to‑work and post‑surgical progressions built on criteria, not calendars.
Honest education about diagnosis, prognosis and timelines.
Documentation & Third‑Party WorkCharts that are complete, same‑day and would stand up to an audit.
MVA, VA and extended‑health documentation done accurately and on deadline.
Being Part of a Small, Experienced TeamCase discussion with therapists who have been doing this for twenty plus years and are genuinely willing to help.
