In this role, you will work collaboratively with the Recreation Therapist, ensuring the effective delivery of recreation activities designed to uplift and support residents. Your involvement will include assessing residents' needs and actively participating in planning events that foster community and engagement. Maintaining records, supporting special events, and encouraging residents’ participation will be key aspects of your daily work.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and assess recreation activities with residents
• Keep detailed records of attendance and program feedback
• Assist in portering and supporting residents during activities
• Organize special events and community activities
• Engage in regular staff meetings for continuous improvement
Requirements:
• High school diploma; preference given for a recreation certificate
• Valid CPR certification and clean criminal record check
• Experience in long-term care settings with elderly residents
• Good communication and computer skills
• Ability to work well within a supportive care team
