The clinical team atOrléans are passionate about enriching the health of their clients through a holistic approach, as the Senior Occupational Therapist working in the OWN (Ontario Workers Network) and PCVRS (Partners in Canadian Rehab Veteran Services) programs you willobjectively assess a person's ability to perform daily and work-related tasks, identifying physical/cognitive limitations and guiding rehabilitation, return-to-work planning, accommodations, and create safe, trauma-informed environments to supportparticipation in meaningful work, school, and social roles.

Your impact

You will provide both individual and program-based treatments and assessments for individuals recovering from motor vehicle accidents and workplace injuries, and supporting veterans, Canadian Armed Forces members, first responders, and individuals facing physical,cognitive and mental wellness goals through the PCVRS program. As the Senior Occupational Therapist, you will:

Evaluate the worker's physical, cognitive, and psychological functions, as well as job demands and workplace environment

Create tailored, graded return-to-work plans with specific, measurable goals that gradually increase activity and build tolerance.

Provide a safe, non-judgmental space offer understanding on the trauma's impact to help clients feel secure, manage triggers, and build self-awareness.

Concussion management and return to function planning

Focusing on holistic recovery through skill-building, routine establishment, sensory strategies, and creating safe, trauma-informed environments to support participation in meaningful work, school, and social roles

Perform clinical evaluations, provide exercises, functional tasks, and cognitive strategies (e.g., pacing, energy conservation) to address injury-related deficits.

Identification of appropriate equipment needs with initiation of recommendations

Teach techniques like mindfulness, relaxation, and sleep hygiene to manage pain, fatigue, and emotional distress.

Provide education to the client about the recovery process, the benefits of staying connected to work, and their roles in the plan.

Identify suitable modified duties, adapt the work environment, and monitor progress where appropriate

Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart

Excel in a collaborative, inter-disciplinary team environment

Exhibit sound professional judgment

As one of the largest networks of OTs in the nation, you will work within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment, delivering high-quality, client-centered care across multiple clinics, or specific clinic and community settings. Key skills and qualifications include:

Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing as an Occupational Therapist

Provide leadership in areas of Case Management

Act as a preceptor or Supervisor where required

Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.

Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle may be required

In some cases, Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check

In some cases, Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance (within 6 months)
