Exercise Specialist Southside PCN

Become an Exercise Specialist with the Edmonton Southside Primary Care Network, where you'll provide essential physical activity services in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. This role focuses on assessment, exercise prescription, and chronic disease management for diverse patients.

The Edmonton Southside Primary Care Network is seeking a temporary Exercise Specialist for a 0.6-0.8 FTE position. As a vital member of the healthcare team, you will assess and implement care plans for patients of all ages, emphasizing physical activity and health education. Flexibility is required, with at least one evening shift a week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate in a team-based primary care setting

• Assess patients' physical activity and readiness for change

• Prescribe and supervise exercise programs

• Provide health education and follow-up evaluations

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation

Requirements:

• Degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or related field

• CSEP or ACSM certification

• Current Basic Life Support certification

• Experience in primary care and group facilitation

• Knowledge of Alberta privacy laws
