Transform lives as a Recreation Assistant with The Salvation Army, providing vital therapeutic services in Alberta. Collaborate with the Recreation Therapy Manager to enhance resident engagement and well-being.
In this casual role, you will assist in developing and executing recreational programs for seniors under the guidance of the Recreation Therapy Manager. You will play a key role in assessment, data collection, and maintaining therapy areas. Working with individuals with mental health conditions, your contributions will significantly impact the residents’ quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in creating and implementing therapeutic recreation programs
• Compile monthly statistics and attend to resident records
• Support the therapeutic care plan and resident assessments
• Complete supply requisitions and maintain therapy equipment
• Transport residents using the program vehicle when needed
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in Recreation Therapy or related experience
• CPR and Standard First Aid certification required
• Clean Class 5 driver’s license with a clear abstract
• Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
• Previous experience with seniors and mental health
