Location:
Various locations across Alberta
Medical Laboratory Technicians perform laboratory tests on patient samples to assist in diagnosing and treating diseases. They work in various healthcare settings,ensuring accurate and timely results.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze biological samples (blood, urine, tissue).
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
Perform quality control checks and troubleshoot issues.
Record and report testresults accurately and promptly.
Assist in ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with medical staff to interpret results and inform patient care.
Requirements Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent.
Certification by arecognized body (e.g., ASCP, CSMLS).
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
