Finning Canada is seeking a strategic and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team in Edmonton. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources Services, this role serves as a trusted advisor to business leaders and provides HR leadership that supports Finning's mission, vision, values, and long-term business objectives. As a key member of the HR leadership team, you will partner closely with operations leaders to understand business priorities and translate them into actionable people strategies that drive organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, talent development, and business performance.

- Collaborate with senior leaders and executives on workforce planning, succession planning, talent management, employee engagement, and leadership development.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on workforce, organizational, leadership, and employee relations matters.
- Partner with HR Centres of Excellence (COEs) to implement programs, policies, and initiatives aligned with strategic business goals.
- Anticipate business needs and emerging trends, developing proactive HR solutions that support future organizational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, labour regulations, and corporate policies.
- Partner with leadership teams to identify organizational needs and develop HR strategies that build organizational capability.
- Support succession planning, leadership development, career development programs, and high-potential talent identification.
- Lead and facilitate organizational change initiatives that support business transformation and growth.
- Develop and implement policies, programs, and practices that align talent strategies with business objectives.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on engagement, accountability, continuous improvement, and inclusion.
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of HR Business Partners.
- Provide guidance on employee relations, labour relations, talent acquisition, performance management, total rewards, ability management, and workforce planning.
- Build a highly effective HR team recognized as trusted partners across the organization.
- Lead HR projects and initiatives while ensuring successful execution, resource management, and measurable outcomes.
- Provide direction and support in labour relations matters, including grievance and arbitration processes.
- Support the successful delivery of core HR programs including compensation planning, performance management, talent review, and succession planning.
- Provide leadership in the implementation and administration of HR programs across assigned business units.
- Develop communication and education strategies that drive adoption and understanding of HR initiatives.
- Partner with HR Centres of Excellence to identify opportunities for program enhancements and continuous improvement.
- Conduct and oversee complex workplace investigations and employee relations matters.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align HR strategies to organizational goals.
- Exceptional relationship-building, influencing, communication, and consulting skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proven leadership experience with a collaborative, coaching-oriented approach.
- Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and alternative dispute resolution skills.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity while maintaining focus and delivering results.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Strong commitment to inclusion, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and One Drive.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms;
Workday experience is considered an asset.
