Description:

The Senior Payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and union benefit administration while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, collective bargaining agreements, and company policies. This position plays a key role in supporting payroll operations, maintaining data integrity, and providing exceptional service to employees and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage confidential information in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers. Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

Coordinate and process payroll activities, including payroll processing, reporting, auditing, and year-end payroll activities.

Review employment agreements, offer letters, and union benefit requirements to ensure contractual compliance.

Support payroll system administration, including payroll setup, maintenance, and calculations.

Maintain payroll records and perform data entry with a high degree of accuracy.

Conduct payroll audits and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate employee compensation.

Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll and union benefit inquiries from employees and operational leaders.

Develop, maintain, and analyze payroll reports utilizing various reporting tools and systems.

Assist with regulatory reporting and compliance requirements.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and support implementation of best practices.

Provide mentorship and training to team members while contributing to a collaborative and cross-functional department.

Maintain knowledge of payroll legislation, prevailing wage requirements, and collective bargaining agreements.

Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum 5 years of payroll and/or union administration experience.

Experience with in construction, infrastructure, or industrial environments is preferred.

PCP designation through the National Payroll Institute, or actively working toward designation.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience working with Workday.

Experience supporting ERP implementations or payroll system enhancements.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Experience administering payroll for unionized work forces and working with Trimble Viewpoint and B2W systems will be considered an asset.
