Job Description & How to Apply Below

With the introduction and passage of Bill 48, the iGaming Alberta Act, the province has established the legal framework for a competitive, innovative, and socially responsible digital gaming ecosystem. The launch of Alberta’s private, regulated iGaming will permit private iGaming operators to participate in a controlled iGaming environment. A newly created Crown corporation, the Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC), will be responsible for conducting and managing the market as well as contracting with private iGaming operators.

By establishing the organizational structure and setting key provisions and requirements, the iGaming Alberta Act positions Alberta to create an open, commercial, and regulated iGaming market, and to become a global leader in the iGaming industry.

The creation of AiGC presents a unique opportunity for an experienced technology executive to establish and lead the information and technology services for this new Crown corporation at a pivotal moment in the province’s gaming industry. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Board of Directors, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) defines how the organization governs, secures, and sustains its IT systems and data assets in support of business objectives.

This includes oversight of IT service delivery, establishment and management of related contracts, third-party integrations, quality assurance testing, data management, systems, infrastructure, procurement, contract management, and digital enablement.

As a founding member of the Executive Team, the CIO is responsible for building, leading, and inspiring a high-performing team charged with business continuity and disaster recovery planning, information security, and IT-related training across the organization; including systems that support onboarding, compliance, and executive reporting. The CIO also leads development of the corporate project office and related project portfolio and infrastructure investments, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and legislative requirements.

The AiGC CIO will focus on minimizing cyber risk as a core competency, while maintaining and supporting business growth and compliance.

To fill this position, Alberta iGaming Corporation has partnered with leadership advisory firm Odgers. Applications are encouraged immediately, and should be submitted online, no later than January 30, 2026.

We would like to thank all applicants but regret that we are only able to personally contact those individuals whose backgrounds best match the requirements for the role.
