We are seeking an experienced Corporate Solutions Architect to provide strategic architectural leadership across government and health system initiatives. This role ensures alignment of Information Management/Information Technology solutions with enterprise standards, maximizes return on Information Technology investments, and reduces organisational risk by guiding projects, partners, and stakeholders toward cohesive, reusable, and future‑ready architectures.
The Corporate Solutions Architect provides strategic and hands‑on technical leadership to support department, government, and health system‑wide initiatives. This role ensures that information technology solutions are architecturally sound, aligned with business objectives, sustainable, and consistent with Government of Alberta standards and industry best practices.
Role Responsibilities
Enterprise Architecture Alignment
Ensure architectural alignment across initiatives, projects, government enterprise, partners, vendors, and jurisdictions to maximise Information Technology investment and minimise enterprise risk.
Serve as the focal point for resolving architecture issues within architecture management portfolios.
Participate in inter‑ and intra‑departmental architecture teams.
Provide architectural input into Information Management/Information Technology planning processes and the Enterprise Information Management/Information Technology Planning Committee (EIPC).
Identify architectural dependencies and impacts across projects.
Monitor Information Management/Information Technology solutions under development.
Ensure significant architecture decisions are documented by project teams.
Architecture Planning & Roadmaps
Develop and maintain current state, future state, and transition‑state architecture roadmaps to support strategic Information Management/Information Technology planning.
Identify gaps between current architecture, transition states, and future vision.
Define approaches to address architectural gaps and challenges.
Propose refinements to government‑wide and health system‑wide architectures.
Ensure enterprise architecture asset inventories are established, maintained, and published to stakeholders.
Asset Reuse & Enterprise Contribution
Ensure project teams reuse, extend, and contribute Information Management/Information Technology assets to optimise enterprise value.
Identify and communicate opportunities to reuse existing assets.
Identify opportunities to acquire and adopt new assets that improve capability, efficiency, and value.
