As the Director Data Science, reporting to the Head of Data Analytics, you’ll be responsible for expanding and optimizing Servus' use of machine learning and predictive modelling across the enterprise to enhance member experience and improve business outcomes. In this role, you will identify opportunities, set objectives and prioritize initiatives while managing successful implementation and operations. This role entails substantial department and enterprise managerial responsibilities, including leadership of a team of experienced data scientists and engineers.
What You'll be Doing:
Lead the development and implementation of Servus' overall data science strategy and roadmap.Oversee the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models and algorithms to increase member cross sell, reduce expenses and manage risk.Envision, implement and scale Servus' Next Best Opportunity (NBO) program delivering personalized, relevant and timely offers to members across all of Servus' distribution channelsPartner with distribution and technology teams to deliver models and recommendations seamlessly to front line staff and self-serve channels.Build relationships with business owners and teams throughout Servus to identify opportunities and build alignment to increase enterprise adoption and program effectivenessEstablish and continually improve ML Ops processes and best practices to automate workflows and improve operational efficienciesMonitor algorithm performance both at the individual model and overall program levels to optimize performance and manage model riskCreate innovative new approaches to understand and predict member needs and behaviors using member transactional, digital and sentiment data in combination with external and other relevant data.Mentor, lead, coach and develop a team of experienced data scientists and engineers, providing guidance, and helping team members achieve both individual and organizational success.Provide thought leadership and support on data governance and model risk management practices within the organization.What you Bring:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.15+ years’ experience in data science. Banking experience highly preferred8+ years of people leadership experience with a focus on developing high-performing teams, cultivating a culture of excellence and achieving operational efficiencyExtensive familiarity with machine learning tools, processes and best practices. Familiarity with Databricks is an assetDemonstrated track record of optimizing full portfolio of models and algorithmsStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.Proven history of building alignment and effective collaboration with cross department leadersInnovative mindset focused on building departmental and organizational capabilities in line with advances in technology, artificial intelligence and…
