Initial 12-month contract (% Remote EST) with strong possibility of extension. 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain open-source integrations using Spring and Spring Integration, replacing existing Mule Soft-based integrationsBuild and establish reusable integration frameworks and backend flows to support a large pipeline of upcoming integrationsCollaborate with a small development team to deliver secure, scalable integration solutions within a COTS application ecosystem (no development within the COTS platform itself)Provide technical leadership and mentorship to two developers, acting as the senior Java resource on the team (~80% hands-on development / ~20% coaching)Troubleshoot and optimize integration services, ensuring reliability and performance across operational platformsWork closely with stakeholders to understand integration requirements and rapidly deliver production-ready solutionsContribute to operational readiness, deployment, and ongoing support of integration servicesMust Have
Skills:
5+ years of hands-on Java development experience, with strong expertise in Spring,
Spring Boot
, and Spring IntegrationDemonstrated experience designing and building API or system integrations within distributed environmentsExperience building or maintaining reports using Jasper ReportsStrong understanding of modern Spring ecosystem components and ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve technical issuesExperience building backend services, frameworks, and integration flows in enterprise environmentsProven ability to work independently as a senior technical resource and guide less experienced developersExperience deploying and supporting applications in cloud-native or containerized environmentsStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to hit the ground running in a fast-moving integration programNice-to-have
Skills:
Experience migrating or re-platforming integrations away from Mule Soft or other ESB/iPaaS solutionsExposure to Open Shift administration or supporting containerized deploymentsPrevious experience working with COTS-based enterprise platforms where integrations are built externallyFamiliarity with Agile/Scrum delivery environments
