** The Technology Services Branch requires one (1) self-motivated individual to ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and administration of the Edmonton Police Service’s physical and virtual infrastructure. Roles and responsibilities include:

Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft Entra , Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Azure infrastructure and services.

Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to junior team members for issues related to Microsoft Entra  Microsoft 365.Independently and efficiently diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues related to Microsoft Entra  Microsoft 365.Collaborate with team members and cross-functional IT teams to investigate and resolve complex identity, Microsoft 365, and infrastructure-related issues.

Assist with long-term planning, lifecycle management, and proactive improvements for Microsoft Entra  Microsoft 365 environments.

Perform approved audits and reviews of Microsoft Entra , Microsoft 365, and other infrastructure resources.

Provide in-depth technical expertise in the operation and maintenance of server, storage, and security solutions to support the integrity, availability, and reliability of corporate data and services.

Perform daily administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Active Directory, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), remote access, and Identity and Access Management (IAM) services.

Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Veeam backup and recovery solutions.

Monitor and analyze the performance, availability, and health of Windows Server infrastructure, and troubleshoot complex infrastructure and system performance issues.

Maintain a working knowledge of virtual infrastructure consisting of VMware ESXi hosts, Fibre Channel storage arrays, and disaggregated hyperconverged infrastructure (dHCI) storage technologies.

Receive, prioritize, document, troubleshoot, and resolve complex and varied infrastructure support requests using diagnostic and service request tracking tools, including hands-on technical support where required.

Monitor system logs and network activity for unusual or suspicious behavior and assist with investigation and remediation.

Support the implementation of Microsoft Defender security solutions on Windows Servers Maintain existing technical documentation, procedures, and operational records, and create new documentation as required.

Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Degree in a related discipline and four (4) years relevant experience OR Post secondary diploma in a related discipline and five (5) years relevant experience OR one (1) year related certificate and seven (7) years relevant experience.

Experience with supported Windows server operating systems, Active Directory, Entra , VMware ESXi server 8.x, enterprise backup solutions, Storage Area Networks, and enterprise grade server hardware.

Experience with scripting languages like Power Shell.

Experience with MFA, SSO and identity management standards like SAML and OAuth.

Working knowledge of Solar Winds for monitoring, reporting and alerting.

Working knowledge of an enterprise Public Key Infrastructure would be considered an asset.

Able to rapidly acquire in-depth knowledge of unfamiliar systems through research and self learning.

Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

Strong interpersonal, customer service, teamwork, problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Highly self-motivated with the proven ability to work independently to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a mission critical high-pressure environment.
