Position: Casual Language Interpreter for Education

In this casual position, the interpreter will work closely with students and parents, utilizing fluency in English and a second language, such as Turkish, Arabic, or Vietnamese. Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret and translate verbal and written communication

• Accurately convey questions and requests from families

• Convert dialogue while preserving idioms and context

• Facilitate meetings, conferences, and after-school activities

• Provide interpretation support to staff and families

Requirements:

• Diploma in child development or education with five years’ experience

• Fluency in English and other languages, both written and oral

• Understanding of Alberta Education and language programming

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and records management principles

• Ability to build rapport with students and families
