Our client designs and manufactures highly engineered industrial equipment sold across North America and internationally. With decades of success in the market, they have built a strong reputation for product quality, operational excellence, and customer support. The business is continuing to evolve and invest heavily in process improvement, systems, people, and long-term growth.
They have engaged Sean Baker of Modern Recruitment to assist them in hiring a Supply Chain Manager. This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing procurement, inventory strategy, materials planning, supplier relationships, and overall supply chain performance within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Lead purchasing, materials planning, inventory control, and supplier management activities
- Support production to ensure material availability and uninterrupted workflow
- Manage supplier relationships, pricing discussions, and overall vendor performance
- Enhance forecasting and inventory strategies to support future manufacturing demand
- Drive process improvements across procurement, planning, and supply chain operations
- Improve inventory levels, usage trends, and reduce supply risks to improve overall efficiency
- Further develop current KPIs, reporting metrics, and performance tracking processes
- Support budgeting, cost reduction initiatives, and operational planning activities
- Coach, mentor, and develop members of the supply chain team
- Participate in strategic planning and leadership discussions across the organization
- Support ERP utilization and continuous process improvement initiatives
- Previous management experience within supply chain, procurement, material management from a manufacturing environment
- Strong practical understanding of purchasing, inventory planning, supplier management, and production support and strategy
- Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Above average communication and relationship building skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast moving environment
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- Experience leading teams and driving accountability
- Exposure to fabrication, steel manufacturing, or engineered products would be considered an asset
- Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business with SCMP or CSCP
