Join a high-performing Supply Chain team and lead critical procurement activities that support maintenance, reliability, and operational excellence in a fast-paced refinery environment. Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Buyer – Maintenance & Projects in the Oil & Gas / Energy industry in Redwater, Alberta. This is a contract position through the end of December 2026.

- Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Develop, execute, administer, and follow up on Purchase Orders and contracts.
- Review requisitions and scopes of work to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Execute procurement activities in accordance with Supply Chain Management policies, procedures, and plans.
- Establish and maintain appropriate controls and processes for the acquisition of goods and services.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with corporate policies, risk and insurance requirements, government regulations, and applicable standards.
- Develop demand plans with internal client groups and collaborate with planning teams to ensure materials and spare parts are procured and expedited on time.
- Support the procurement of inventory items, including spare parts and chemicals.
- Prepare and issue RFQs and RFPs, evaluate bids, negotiate terms, and make purchasing recommendations.
- Assist with sourcing engineered and fabricated items for maintenance and site projects.
- Advanced computer and ERP system experience.
- Experience with Maximo or a similar ERP/procurement system is an asset.
- 7+ years of procurement experience in an operating environment, preferably supporting Maintenance, Turnaround, and small capital/site projects.
- University degree and/or professional certification such as SCMP is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of procurement across materials, engineered/fabricated items, and services.
- Understanding of business law as it relates to contracting and procurement.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
- Proven experience negotiating complex agreements involving multiple stakeholders.
- Strong procurement, analytical, interpersonal, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
