Procurement Manager
Alta Steel is seeking an experienced and results-driven Procurement Manager to lead our strategic sourcing and purchasing activities. This senior-level role is critical to ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services that support our steel manufacturing operations. Reporting to the Director of Procurement and Risk Management
, the Procurement Manager will oversee supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and compliance with Alta Steel’s procurement policies and standards.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with Alta Steel’s operational and financial objectivesActively participate in day-to-day procurement activities, including supplier engagement, strategic sourcing initiatives, purchase approvals, contract negotiations, and resolution of critical supply or operational issues to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.Receive and review requisitions from Operations and other stakeholders.Present, review and select bidders in conjunction with Bar Mill and other stakeholders.Determine and prepare terms and conditions consistent with Alta Steel policy.Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and support audit requirementsPrepare and manage RFQs/RFP process, including, the preparation and analysis of bids, and recommend optimal suppliersMaintain contract management process, including the execution of agreementsCollaborate with Finance to validate invoices and ensure alignment with contract termsUtilize ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics 365) to manage procurement workflows and reportingAdditional duties as requested by management.Qualifications and Experience
10+ years of experience in Procurement role with strong background in contract management.5+ years of management experienceBachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or related fieldSCMP designation is preferred.Skilled in using Dynamics 365 or similar ERP systemsAdvanced skills with Microsoft OfficeFocused on providing great service to internal customers and stakeholdersDetail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentComfortable working within a teamExcellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skillsDetails
