Maintenance Director

Description

The Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing all custodial staff and managing the maintenance and upkeep of campus buildings and grounds. This role ensures a safe, functional, and well‑maintained environment for students, staff, and visitors, while supporting continuous improvement in facility operations.

• Supervise custodial staff and oversee daily maintenance operations
• Ensure the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of all buildings and grounds
• Perform and coordinate basic maintenance work, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general repairs
• Monitor facility conditions and establish maintenance goals and standards
• Assist in evaluating facility performance and implementing corrective actions for ongoing improvements
• Coordinate and supervise contractors when specialized work is required
• Prepare cost estimates, gather project data, and manage purchasing of services and materials
• Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, and evaluate alternative products for efficiency and cost savings
• Process purchase orders and ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities

• Experience in facility maintenance, building operations, or a related field
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance practices
• Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
• Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
