Recreation Facilities Maintenance Operator

Operate recreation facilities in Wetaskiwin using equipment maintenance and customer service skills. This hands-on position supports safe, clean community spaces.
The City of Wetaskiwin seeks an Operator 1-Recreation for daily maintenance of buildings, arenas, aquatic facilities, and sports fields. The work includes minor repairs, ice operations, snow removal, equipment operation, and facility support. Strong communication and adaptability are important.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain buildings, equipment, sports fields, and facility grounds
Perform ice making and ice maintenance operations
Operate vehicles, tractors, loaders, resurface rs, and power tools
Provide professional service to facility users and community members
Maintain accurate daily and weekly maintenance records
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Previous building, pool, or arena experience
Valid Class 5 driver's license required
Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Flexibility for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts
