Construction General Manager

TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Construction General Manager to work for one of Canada’s leading railway services and project solutions companies. This senior-level position is responsible for the successful delivery of complex transportation and industrial infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

Promote inclusive leadership and support workforce development through coaching and mentorship.

Oversee subcontractor selection, onboarding, and performance to meet safety and quality expectations.

Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies throughout the project lifecycle.

Ensure adherence to construction standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.

Lead financial planning, budgeting, and cost control initiatives across all active projects.

Drive innovation through modern construction technologies and methodologies.

Negotiate and administer contracts, ensuring compliance with legal, financial, and operational standards.

Manage infrastructure construction projects across Western Canada, including transit systems, industrial track installations, and specialized civil works.

Develop operational strategies that improve efficiency, mitigate risks, and support long-term growth.

Qualifications:

Minimum 10 years of experience in construction, with 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.

Experience in transportation or rail-related infrastructure.

Proven track record in contract management, client relations, and team leadership.

Strong understanding of project delivery systems, regulatory frameworks, and construction standards.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is an asset.
