Dura-Line is hiring a Lead Quality Technician in our manufacturing plant in St. Albert, AB to help oversee the production of high-quality products within the department. You will help facilitate and assist in the quality assurance, document control, and safety functions at our plant. We are looking for someone that is hands-on, and very customer-centric and results-oriented.
Schedule: To be determined
Pay: Starts at $31/hour and up, depending on education and experience.
What will you be doing?
Lead and motivate a team-oriented, goal-driven group of Quality Technicians.Collaborate with production personnel to drive continuous improvements in products and services.Efficiently monitor product quality without impeding production rates.Conduct training for other production employees on the quality system, procedures and work instructions.Inspect products during the manufacturing process using appropriate equipment and procedures.Issue SAP Quality Notifications as required.Manage equipment calibration schedules and support plant leadership.On occasion, provide coverage in the absence of the Quality Manager.Test incoming raw materials, maintain records, and operate diagnostic equipment.Conduct internal audits for TL900 (ISO) Plant setup and preparation.Perform all regular QA Technician duties as assigned.What will help you be successful in this role?
2-3+ years of experience in Quality Control, quality assurance, or inspection role in a manufacturing environment.Around 1 year of management/supervision/lead experience (direct or indirect reports).Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), file management and data entry.Familiarity with SAP or ERP inventory systems and Quality Management systems (desirable).Strong reading, writing, and mathematical competencyASQ certificationManufacturing softwareStrong knowledge and understanding of the resin system and test equipmentInspect product during the extrusion processTest incoming raw material and maintain recordsGreat Attention to detailProblem solver, and good analytical skillsAbility to take and follow directionNeed to be team oriented, goal driven, motivatedExemplary attitude with minimal Attendance issuesOccupational and / or
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50 pounds with or without reasonable assistanceAbility to climb ladders, listen to equipment, look for defects in product and sense temperature changes in the finished productAbility to hold conduit and drive nails into reel flanges simultaneouslyAbility to move from one area to another by stepping over and/or bending under objectsAbility to use hand tools: electric saw, air nail gun, hammer, banding equipment, crow barMobility sufficient to allow frequent entrance and exits from lift truckAbility to spend up to 12 hours a shift on your feet around hot machineryAbility to recognize color spectrumWe thank you for your interest & We look forward to hearing from you!
