Job Summary

Reporting to the Supervisor
- Test, the Test Technician is primarily responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and repairing production electronic equipment and systems on site in the Bedford facility.

Responsibilities
  • Applies electronic theory, principles of electrical circuits, testing procedures and related knowledge to test and troubleshoot production electronic equipment.
  • Utilizes test equipment to perform functional, operational, and environmental tests on equipment to established criteria to determine acceptability.
  • Evaluates performance of equipment and compliance with procedures.
  • Reads and interprets diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals for repair and diagnostic information.
  • Performs troubleshooting and failure analysis on products and documents results.
  • Completes repairs, maintenance, and calibrations to test equipment.
  • Designs fixtures and jigs.
  • Capable of performing related manufacturing processes.
  • Interprets and follows documents such as SOPs and safety rules.
  • Interfaces with other departments to ensure efficient flow of information and materials.
  • Analyzes, records, and interprets test data to determine product acceptability.
  • Recommends changes in method or installation specifications to simplify tests or reduce test times.
Qualifications
  • Possession of an Electronics Technician Diploma and/or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of related work experience within a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electronic equipment.
  • Experience reading schematics and engineering specifications.
  • Board-level troubleshooting experience considered a strong asset.
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal is essential.
  • Strong reading comprehension is particularly important.
  • Must have technical competency and good manual dexterity.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret test data.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to administer multiple ongoing projects.
  • Must have basic design capabilities and integration/troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize and meet work schedules.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments.
  • Works well within a team.
