Overview We’re looking for a positive, self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our production team as an ice cream maker and production support. This role is ideal for someone who naturally moves with urgency, stays three steps ahead, and takes pride in highly efficient work. You take care and consideration when preparing batches of ice cream and are motivated to make a consistent, high-quality product time-after-time.
You maintain a clean and orderly work environment, are a tenacious learner and innovator but can still follow structured recipes. We care deeply about quality, but we also value efficiency. Our strongest team members combine attention to detail with an excellent sense of pace and urgency.
Responsibilities Follow recipes with care and accuracy, measuring/portioning ingredients to ensure that every batch of ice cream is produced with consistency
Prepping ice cream inclusions including baking, making sauces (caramel, fudge) and preparing fruits
Preparing ice cream packaging (washing pails, labelling packaging)
Operating commercial batch freezer
Packing large pails of ice cream and pints
Assisting with inventory management and production scheduling
Maintaining a clean and sanitary work area including equipment, utensils and storage areas according to daily/weekly cleaning schedules
Excellent time management skills to meet production deadlines
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
Valuable communication skills
Considerations Our production kitchen runs on rhythm and efficiency. Team members are expected to move quickly, multitask well, and use every spare moment to prepare for the next task.
Must be aware of and comfortable with the physical nature of the job; including climbing stairs, lifting (25kg/55lbs), repetitive movement, and standing for long periods of time
Qualifications Have current AHS approved food handler’s certificate
Have a minimum 1 year restaurant experience - food production or pastry experience preferred
Meticulous; able to consistently maintain high quality standards
Part
-time availability through September, 20-25 hours/week
Experience cooking/baking: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification Food Safe, Safe Check, Food Handler or equivalent (required)
