Job Description The Shipper/Receiver is accountable for ensuring that picking, shipping, receiving, inventory and material handling tasks are accurately completed.
They verify product quality meets customer expectations while preparing, packaging, and loading outgoing orders and unloading or signing incoming orders.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions Leadership Build support and engagement for corporate & operations initiatives and objectives.
Demonstrate Rice values and commitment to Rice Vision & Mission.
Safety Understand and comply with the Rice EHS System.
Help promote a safe work environment.
Shipping/Receiving Prepare and package orders while ensuring parts and quantities match the packing slip.
Coordinate with customers and couriers to organize product shipment and receipt.
Communicate courteously throughout interactions with customers and couriers.
Unload and sign for product while ensuring part numbers and accompanying quantities match the packing slip.
Verify all product is received in good order and document any product that comes in damaged.
Load/unload products safely using lifting equipment or by hand.
Communicate with Supervisor – Logistics to resolve any issues.
Understand and follow OMS Processes related to Job Title as per the Training Matrix.
Inventory Management/Materials Handling Maintain warehouse/yard hygiene following LEAN principles, ensuring that all product and equipment is clean and in the right place.
Complete Inventory Cycle Counting as required.
Handle and/or move product for internal consumption using lifting equipment or by hand.
Understand and follow OMS Processes related to Job Title as per the Training Matrix.
Required Skills, Education & Competencies High School Diploma or equivalent, six to twelve months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2 year Forklift certification a must.
Prior Loader, Combilift, and/or Bobcat experience an asset.
Ability to read and interpret English.
Ability to perform basic math; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Must be able to follow directions. Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
Basic computer navigation and utilization skills.
Physical Demands / Working Conditions Regularly stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours).
Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
Occasionally work at a desk for extended periods of time.
Occasionally work in all weather conditions.
Occasionally required to lift 30-50 lbs.
Able to work independently or as part of a team.
