Urgent Hiring:
Certified Sub Arc Welding Operators – Day & Afternoon Shifts Available

Our fabrication facility is experiencing unprecedented growth! Driven by a massive influx of heavy structural mining contracts—specifically focusing on hard rock mining equipment and custom chute fabrication—we have an immediate need for two expert-level Sub Arc Welders. Our production schedule is packed well into the summer months, prompting us to open an entirely new afternoon shift. If you are a dedicated tradesperson ready to hit the ground running, we want you on our floor!

Schedule

& Compensation Breakdown
  • Morning Shift: Monday to Thursday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
  • Evening Shift: Monday to Thursday, 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM.
  • Base Pay Rate: $35.00 to $40.00 hourly, strictly dependent on your level of proven shop experience.
  • Shift Bonus:
    An additional $3.00 per hour premium applied to all afternoon shift hours.

Timeline:
We require an immediate start. Current project pipelines guarantee steady work through at least the end of October.

Responsibilities
  • Equipment Operation:
    Set up, operate, and monitor Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) equipment to produce high-quality, high-penetration welds on heavy structural steel.
  • Blueprint Translation:
    Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding process specifications to determine layouts and sequences.
  • Strict Quality Control:
    Conduct visual inspections of finished welds to ensure they meet industry standards and project tolerances; repair or touch up welds as needed.
  • Heavy Rigging & Handling:
    Safely operate overhead bridge cranes and industrial forklifts to position large-scale heavy metal components (chutes, structural beams) for welding.
  • Preparation:
    Perform necessary prep work including grinding, fitting, and tack welding segments to ensure precise alignment.
  • Safety & Preventative Maintenance:
    Maintain a clean workspace and perform routine maintenance on welding heads, flux recovery systems, and power sources.
Qualifications
  • Mandatory Credentials:
    You must possess valid, recognized welding tickets (Journeyman status or equivalent heavy structural certifications are highly preferred).
  • Hands‑On Expertise:
    We require a demonstrable track record of successfully operating automated Sub Arc welding systems within a heavy fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Professional Drive:
    We are hunting for highly dependable individuals who bring a proactive, problem‑solving mindset and a relentless work ethic to the shop floor.
  • Adaptability:
    Please note that all new hires will complete an initial assessment and training period on the Day Shift before being officially transferred to their finalized, long‑term schedule.
