Job Description

This role focuses on safely handling materials in a production environment, supporting the paint and blasting departments, and maintaining a clean and organized shop. You start with general labour tasks and receive training in the blasting department, with opportunities to develop skills in industrial painting and sandblasting.

Responsibilities

• Operate an overhead crane to safely move materials within the shop.
• Mask and tape products to prepare them for painting by the paint crew.
• Perform general shop housekeeping, including sweeping floors and emptying garbage as needed.
• Stock materials upon arrival and ensure they are stored in the appropriate locations.
• Lubricate studs and perform minor touch-up painting as required.
• Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including loading, unloading, and organizing products.
• Use power tools and general production equipment to support daily operations.
• Package and pick materials according to production and shipping requirements.
• Clear doorways of snow and maintain safe access points to the facility.
• Train in the blasting department and support blasting operations once training is complete.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in a production environment.
• Collaborate with the foreman and team members to complete tasks efficiently and support overall production goals.

Essential Skills

• Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate an overhead crane safely.
• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Ability to work 8–10 hour shifts as required.
• Experience with general labour tasks such as loading, packaging, picking, and general production work.
• Basic experience with shipping and receiving processes.
• Comfort using power tools in an industrial setting.
• Strong focus on safety, organization, and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn blasting and industrial painting processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Forklift experience.
• Previous experience in industrial painting.
• Previous sandblasting experience.
• Prior experience in a production environment using overhead cranes.
• Interest in long-term employment and developing skills under the guidance of experienced foremen.

Work Environment

This is a full-time role in a manufacturing shop environment, typically scheduled Monday to Friday from 6:00 . to 2:30 .

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nisku, AB.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.08/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Nisku,AB.
