Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the employee performs general shop floor work. They also assist with handling, plating, storage, clean up and preparation of raw materials and finished products.

Responsibilities
  • Provide general shop and yard labour as required.
  • Clean and maintain the work area and equipment used daily.
  • Use overhead cranes and/or forklift to load and offload items from racks daily.
  • Expedite Argus Product Inventory Bins to corresponding machines.
  • Check and maintain existing and incoming stock levels of raw material and final product.
  • Participate in inventory control activities.
  • Safely maneuver raw material/ finished product within the manufacturing plant. Handle materials and equipment with care to ensure raw materials are not damaged while being transported. Report any concerns to the Plant Supervisor.
  • Interpret production order information, including part descriptions, material grade, documents and drawings.
  • Complete documentation for work carried out. Route the material/ product and related documentation to the appropriate location once completed.
  • Record time and switch codes on internal computer system (Blue Terminal), scan router operations, enter product quantity and consume materials.
  • Use measuring tools as required.
  • Appropriate handling of hazardous chemicals as required by WHIMIS standards.
  • Other duties as requested by the Supervisor.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma is an asset.
  • Machine shop experience is an asset.
  • A forklift ticket is an asset.
  • Ability to use measuring equipment.
  • General knowledge of products and services in relation to the oil and gas industry.
  • General understanding of safe work practices, Quality Assurance requirements, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) principles.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Shop floor environment, extended standing and working with products.
  • Working wearing personal protective equipment 100% of work time.
  • Lifting regularly up to 50lbs without mechanical assistance.
