Based out of the Electrical Division Edmonton, (EDE) location, the Material Handler
- Shipping and Receiving will report to the Senior Manufacturing Supervisor. The Material Handler
- Shipping and Receiving will be responsible for loading and un‑loading material, moving, handling, and organizing all incoming and outgoing materials.
- Co-ordinate and take direction from Senior Material Handler
- Perform physical movement of materials from one area to another using handcarts, forklifts, cranes or pallet jacks.
- Prepares goods and materials for PCR/E-House department, including: staging, loading, and documentation.
- Ensure all received materials are organized and distributed to the correct personnel or placed production areas.
- Removes surplus material and product after tasks are complete and places back in storage or disposes in trash.
- Monitors all shop trash and trash bins, empties or places trash into large Bin located outside.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all material and inventory supplies in the PCR/E-House production area.
- Work with co-workers, supervisors, and planners to ensure all material is delivered on time.
- Promote a safety culture and attend all safety meetings.
- Ensure quality by following standard work instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality.
- Other duties as required.
- High level of self-motivation and initiative with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks.
- Ability to learn and adhere to all manufacturing policies and practices to ensure adherence to ISO requirements.
- Able to work effectively within your team and around other departments and their activities.
- Must have a basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Minimum education level of a High School Diploma is required.
- Minimum 1+ years of Material Handling experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic level computer skills in MS Office; including Excel experience.
- Valid forklift certification with a minimum of 1-2 years’ or prior experience.
- Overhead crane experience or certificate is considered an asset.
- Valid CSTS 2020 certificate.
- Due to the safety sensitive nature of this position successful candidates will undergo pre-employment testing.
