** Position Summary
** The Journeyperson Welder performs skilled welding and metal fabrication work in accordance with technical drawings, specifications and applicable standards. This role is responsible for fabricating custom prototypes, production parts, jigs, fixtures and metal structures to meet customer and quality requirements within a fast‐paced production environment. The Journeyperson Welder works collaboratively with Supervisors and Lead Hands to support continuous improvement initiatives, achieve production targets and ensure welding is completed to established parameters using GMAW, FCAW and GTAW processes.

** Roles and Responsibilities
*** Read, interpret and apply engineering drawings, blueprints, welding symbols and welding procedure specifications to ensure components are manufactured as designed and suitable for their intended application.
* Set up and operate manual and semi‐automatic welding equipment to join metal components using GTAW, GMAW, FCAW and SMAW processes in accordance with approved procedures and quality standards.
* Perform flame‐cutting and thermal cutting operations using manual or semi‐automatic equipment as required.
* Operate metal fabrication and forming equipment, including brakes, shears and straightening and bending machines.
* Repair, rebuild and modify metal components by welding additional material or reinforcing existing structures.
* Complete inspections, repairs, alterations and retrofit work to ensure structural integrity and compliance with specifications.
* Monitor materials and parts usage and report shortages, defects or quality concerns.
