Overview
Alberta Blue Cross is seeking a Content Specialist for a 12‑month temporary role on our Marketing team. The role supports content strategy and execution, working closely with portfolio marketing managers, advertising and channel integration, brand and digital experience teams.
Responsibilities- Plan, write, edit and distribute external content aligned with marketing and business objectives.
- Collaborate with design, marketing and digital teams to ideate and define content goals.
- Implement audience‑driven integrated content strategies and maintain content governance and workflows.
- Act as project manager for selected projects, securing approvals and ensuring timely delivery.
- Conduct content research, create and curate content across mediums such as thought leadership, newsletters, blog posts, reports, advertorials, promotional materials, video/radio scripts, website pages, social media, etc.
- Write for diverse audiences, applying SEO and keyword strategy to improve organic visibility.
- Ensure quality, brand alignment, editing, proofreading, and fact checking.
- Deliver content per plan, monitor performance, and provide measurement reports to inform optimizations.
- Manage content assets, CMS, and web analytics to support audience insights.
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, communications or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in content creation, copywriting or communications.
- Proficient with content management systems (e.g., Word Press, Drupal, Joomla).
- Experience using layout design tools such as Adobe InCopy or InDesign.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office).
- Knowledge of various content platforms and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing content trends and technology.
- Valid criminal record check.
