Help shape community advocacy in Edmonton by becoming ACORN's Lead Organizer. This full-time role focuses on strengthening tenant rights and housing initiatives.
As ACORN expands into Edmonton, we are looking for a driven Lead Organizer ready to engage with local communities. This full-time position includes extensive training to master community organizing strategies and concepts. You'll work directly with residents to address energy poverty and advocate for effective housing solutions, ensuring that community voices are amplified in decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Undergo intensive training as an ACORN Lead Organizer out of province
• Organize and develop neighborhood groups within Edmonton
• Broaden ACORN's local membership and influence
• Collaborate with members on province-wide campaigns
• Undertake fundraising to sustain organizational goals
Requirements:
• Training provided; no paid organizing experience required
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
• Capable of working both independently and collaboratively
• Must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in the role
• Keen ability to listen and identify community challenges
