Your Opportunity As a member of a multi‑disciplinary team, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. The incumbent performs a variety of nursing duties in accordance with clinical policies and nursing care standards. Decisions are made in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Will be expected as required to cross train to other areas within Stollery to support patient care.
Description As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well‑being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families.
You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide protected, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
PLEASE NOTE:
Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, you must complete the following free courses: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4), available at and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification, available at (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)..

Required Qualifications Previous 4C experience is required.
Successfully pass the Stollery Pre-hire Interview Medication Administration Exam.
Successfully pass the Stollery Medication Administration Exam with 90% or greater completed during orientation.
Successfully pass the Stollery PEARS (Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization) course - completed during orientation.
Must meet all organizational policy requirements for employment.
Preferred Qualifications Due to the nature and acuity of the patients cared for within the Pediatric Cardiology Program, preference will be given to those with current certification in specialized clinical competencies, including direct IV, cytotoxic administration, charge, VAD, ICE, care of trach/vent patients and peritoneal dialysis.
Preference will be given to applicants with previous pediatric experience in an acute care setting, specifically pediatric Cardiology and/or GI experience.
