As a vital member of the stabilizing Anesthesia Care Team, the Anesthesia Assistant collaborates closely with anesthesiologists to deliver comprehensive anesthesia services. This position requires advanced certification and significant critical care experience, emphasizing teamwork and dependency in fast-paced medical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments before anesthesia
• Develop and implement tailored anesthesia care plans
• Administer anesthetics and medications effectively
• Manage patient monitoring during surgical procedures
• Respond to clinical situations promptly and efficiently
Requirements:
• Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy or RN program
• Current registration with Alberta Health Professions Act
• Certified Clinical Anesthesia Assistant (CCAA) required
• Minimum 2,200 hours in critical care settings needed
• Proficient in computer skills, including electronic charting
