As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Required Qualifications
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA).
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Required Qualifications
Completed the Medication Administration via Central Line module (CVC, PICC, or IVAD) within the CLPNA Restricted Activities and Advanced Authorizations framework.
Demonstrated strong assessment, organizational, and patient care skills.
The ability to communicate clinical findings clearly and accurately.
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities, along with the capacity to identify their own learning needs and seek guidance in areas where additional knowledge or support is required.
Ability to stand, walk, turn, lift, assist in transporting, lifting and positioning of patients, and bend, lift, push, and pull equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum one year of LPN experience in an Emergency Department, with additional preference given to those who have worked in a tertiary care setting or who have recent acute or critical care experience within the past two years.
At least two years of relevant medical surgical experience may also be considered.
