Join the Day Surgery Unit at Wetaskiwin Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Offer exceptional patient-centered care while collaborating with surgical teams in a dynamic operating environment.
As an LPN, you will support surgical procedures, ensuring efficient care coordination and comprehensive patient support from pre-admission through post-operative follow-up. Key skills include strong assessment, critical thinking, and excellent organizational abilities.
Your role is crucial in providing high-quality, patient-focused nursing care while adhering to CLPNA and CSA standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct pre-admission assessments and obtain health histories
• Review medications, allergies, and coordinate diagnostic tests
• Confirm surgical requirements and process patient referrals
• Assist in small procedures and monitor patients post-operation
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Requirements:
• Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program
• Active registration with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
• Relevant experience in surgical and procedural services
• Strong communication and organizational skills
