Location: Wabasca-Desmarais
Join Bigstone Health Commission as a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse in Wabasca, AB, dedicated to diabetes care and education. Help clients manage diabetes and promote health through community outreach and support.
The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, contributing to the multidisciplinary Diabetes Program team. You will provide nursing care for Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes, conduct screenings, and support patients with medication adherence. Your commitment to client-centered care and cultural sensitivity will be key in delivering effective health services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care to diabetes clients
• Conduct screenings and clinical assessments
• Monitor blood glucose and manage diabetes care
• Assist in community wellness events and workshops
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation
Requirements:
• Graduate of a licensed practical nursing program
• Current registration with CLPNA
• Minimum one year LPN experience preferred
• Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license
• Current BLS and First Aid certifications
