Surgical nursing expertise matters at Grey Nuns Community Hospital, where Registered Nurses support high-acuity Units 41 and 42. This temporary part-time role includes rotating shifts.
As a Registered Nurse in Covenant Health's Surgery Float Pool, you will provide care across vascular, general, orthopedic, plastic, gynecological, and ENT surgery units. You will assess patients, plan and deliver care, administer medications, evaluate treatments, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams. Patient and family education, discharge planning, and occasional charge nurse duties are included.
Key Responsibilities:- Complete nursing assessments and establish care priorities
- Implement prescribed treatments and administer medications
- Monitor and document treatment progress and patient responses
- Coordinate care with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Facilitate education and discharge planning
- Registered Nurse program graduation or recognized equivalent
- Active College of Registered Nurses of Alberta registration
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Level C certification
- Minimum one year surgical or acute care experience
- Successful recent surgical preceptorship may meet experience requirement
