Psychiatric Intensive Care Nurse

Provide rapid psychiatric assessment and therapeutic care at Alberta Hospital Edmonton as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse in regular part-time service. Apply strong crisis communication and mental health expertise.

This Registered Psychiatric Nurse works in the Adult Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Intensive Care unit. The position provides patient and family centered care within the collaborative care framework. You will promote, maintain, or restore health while supporting recovery-oriented, trauma-informed practice.

• Rapidly assess Psych ICU patients and formulate care plans
• Implement and evaluate patient care interventions
• Provide leadership through diverse psychiatric nursing services
• Teach, counsel, and advocate for patients and families
• Ensure patient safety and well-being during crises

• Accredited Psychiatric nursing education program completion
• Active or eligible CRPNA registration and practice permit
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Health Care Provider certification
• Ability to conduct mental health and mental status assessments
• Evidence-based addiction and mental health treatment knowledge
