Overview Arborist Manager

HML is a highly reputable landscape design and construction contractor that works in Edmonton, Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Spruce Grove and other areas of Alberta.
We’re looking for someone who is creative, self-motivated, organized and excellent attention to detail to join our local business that is growing quickly.
Responsibilities
Obtain jobs for the Arborist division and oversee work being done by employees within the department
Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and diseases
Meet customers daily and provide bids and estimates for jobs pertaining to tree work
Promote sales to existing clients
Identify and solicit potential clients
Supervise and coordinate the activities and duties of the tree crew laborers and arborists/tree crew foremen
Oversee training of workers in job duties and company policies
Enforce safety standards and implement disciplinary action as needed
Set annual financial targets for the department
Review each job for quality of work and profitability
Monitor department spending and equipment purchasing
Coordinate with the landscape project manager on shared-site jobs
Develop and implement marketing plans
Measure the effectiveness of marketing strategies
Resolve work-related problems within the division
Qualifications
ISA Certified Arborist Certificate or equivalent knowledge
Strong communication skills
Ability to balance multiple tasks and manage budgets
Employment Requirements
Hold an ISA Certified Arborist Certificate or equivalent knowledge
Strong ability to sell
Professional attitude towards staff and customers
Capable of balancing multiple tasks
Understanding of budgeting and cost analysis
Strong communication skills
Previous work experience with trees
Job Type: Full-time / Seasonal (year round work available, discuss with Interviewer)
Salary: $80,000.00-$ per year
