Position: University Veterinarian for Animal Care Program

As an integral part of the Veterinary team, you will ensure the health and welfare of research animals while guiding compliance with regulatory standards. The position involves collaboration with a range of stakeholders to develop veterinary protocols, training programs, and best practices, crucial for successful research operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and treat a variety of research animal species

• Monitor and manage animal health programs

• Guide on humane endpoints and experimental design

• Facilitate training for laboratory staff on veterinary care

• Provide expert review for animal use protocols

Requirements:

• DVM degree; licensure with ABVMA preferred

• Minimum five years of clinical experience is ideal

• Understanding of CCAC and CALAM standards

• Prior laboratory veterinary experience highly regarded

• Strong collaborative and communication skills
