As part of the Tree Inventory and Assessment Team, you will conduct critical assessments, ensuring the City’s tree inventory is current and reliable. This physically active position demands extensive fieldwork and the ability to work independently in various weather conditions, helping to drive the efficiency of urban forestry operations and community interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collect tree inventory data using GIS and mobile tools
• Participate in city-wide tree health evaluations
• Identify and thoroughly document dead or hazardous trees
• Monitor and report pests affecting urban trees
• Prepare concise activity reports of fieldwork results
Requirements:
• Completion of a 2-year diploma in Landscape Technology or equivalent
• 2 years of experience in landscaping or forestry
• Experience with GIS applications and field data collection
• Certification in Standard First Aid and CPR
• Alberta Class 5 driver’s license essential
