Forestry Technician - Utility Patrol & Consent

We are currently looking for patrollers to assist in planning and coordinating utility tree work in Alberta. The main focus of this job will be to assess vegetation along utility right-of-ways and obtain permission for the work on behalf of the utility company.

Communication skills are a must, as consultations with contractors, municipalities and landowners regarding proposed work will be required. Individuals who apply will be required to travel throughout the province of Alberta and will be okay with working outdoors year round. All applicants must be self-motivated with a positive attitude as they will be working independently. Attention to detail and technological literacy is also a must.

2 years experience as a supervisor/foreperson in an arboriculture or forestry setting

Valid Class 5 Drivers License

Driven/Motivated

Can Work Alone Without Supervision

Degree or Diploma in Forestry/Urban Forestry/Arboriculture

Utility Arborist Designation (UTT/UTW/CUA)

ISA Certified Arborist or TRAQ

Previous Patrolling experience

Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook

GIS experience

Standard First Aid/CPR & H2S/Snowmobile/UTV/ATV Certifications

Herbicide Application Experience

AB pesticide applicators certificate

This position is a full time position with room for advancement

All company expenses and accommodations are covered alongside a living out allowance paid daily.

Wages are based on experience and are a flat day rate paid out on the basis of 10 hour shifts.

Company vehicle will be supplied for work use only and a driving abstract will be required.
