The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for a pure HSE professional, who is looking to take the reins and make something of themselves in a growing company. Position Description

This facility runs 24/7, and requires staff wear full Personal Protective Equipment at all times within the manufacturing complex. Environmental reporting is a top priority for the organization. As the manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic objectives – such as programs (e.g. emergency response, audiometric testing, etc.), forms, procedures and policies. You will be the community representative as it pertains to municipal/provincial/federal inquiries/concerns.

You will support project managers and project teams in facilitating and completing risk/hazard assessments. Most importantly, you will be developing and implementing all regulatory submissions, as well as environmental reporting to government licensing bodies.

Qualifications

  • Occupational Health & Safety Degree, Diploma, or Certificate
  • A degree in Chemical Engineering or Engineering Technologist considered an asset
  • 5+ years’ Health & Safety field experience, manufacturing environment preferred
  • CRSP Certification
  • Experience at the Supervisory/Team Lead level
  • Trained in Emergency First Aid
  • JHSC Certification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • The ability to demonstrate the application of risk assessment to company operations and activities
  • Proven ability to draft policy and train others to cultivate a thriving HSE workplace culture
  • Clear and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to Travel when required
  • Willingness to be on call when scheduled for week nights and weekends
  • Education
