We are hiring for a Full-Time Quality Assurance Manager with a salary range of $60,000 - $70,000 at our Operations Office in Stony Plain, AB.
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for supporting the organization’s commitment to excellence by coordinating Quality Assurance (QA) documentation, collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors, and ensuring compliance workflows run efficiently. This role plays a key part in maintaining product and process integrity, and assists management in implementing, monitoring, and measuring quality control procedures to ensure that the plant’s products and processes consistently meet established quality standards.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Develop, implement and manage the implementation of the SQF/HACCP and food safety programs, including policies and procedures to meet legislation and regulatory standards (CFIA, Health Canada, AHS, etc.)
Lead in the implementation of full cycle quality test protocols, including proper document control of risk assessments, pathogens reduction initiatives and resolving non-conformance situations.
Lead internal and external audits (SQF, CFIA, Health Canada, AHS, customer feedback) and ensure timely resolution with corrective actions are in place meeting food quality and safety standards
Lead in the implementation of all food quality and safety training for all Team Members with yearly refresher.
Collaborate closely with the leadership team to drive a food safety culture.
Lead in implementing supplier audit based on GFSI/BRCGS system for all food products, ingredients, additives, direct and indirect packaging used in the operations
Lead in the implementation of the product recall program to comply with regulatory and food quality and safety standards
Ensure labeling compliance with CFIA and Health Canada regulatory requirements.
Direct the sensory testing and evaluation program to ensure product consistency, quality, and organoleptic standards.
Manage the investigation, including RCA and resolution of customer complaints/feedback to ensure accurate and prompt resolution and response
Lead in the liaison with CFIA, Health Canada, AHS and other regulatory agencies.
Provide leadership, direction and training to QA/QC team to ensure effective and efficient implementation of all programs
Manage the QA/QC Department budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources
What you Bring:
3-5 years of experience in managing Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems in a food production environment
A degree or diploma in Food Science or a related discipline is preferred
Certified in HACCP & GFSI
Experience in the creation and implementation of food safety and quality systems, including FSQM, HACCP, Food Safety Plan, Audits, and Risk Assessment in a food production plant
Working knowledge of CFIA, Health Canada, AHS, Codex Alimentarius, and statutory and regulatory policies
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills
Ability to balance multiple projects and handle complex tasks in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in QA/QC software programs, Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Ability to work both in-office and plant operation environments
