Seasonal Field Research Assistant

Hire Standard is recruiting on behalf of an agricultural research program looking for a Seasonal Field Research Assistant to support corn and canola research plots for the 2026 growing season.

This role is hands‑on and primarily outdoors, assisting with plot establishment, crop scouting, field maintenance, data collection, and research harvest activities.

This is a temporary full‑time position lasting approximately 4–6 months, depending on candidate availability.

• Assist with small‑plot corn and canola research trials
• Conduct crop scouting and monitor plant development
• Support plot maintenance and general field work
• Collect and record field data and research observations
• Assist with plot harvest and sample collection
• Follow research protocols and safe work practices

• High school diploma required
• Previous farm, agronomy, or agricultural field work experience
• Enrolment in a post‑secondary agriculture program would be an asset.
• Valid class 5 driver’s licence and satisfactory driving record
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow research procedures
• Ability to work independently and in a small team environment
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to perform physical tasks and lift when required

• Monday – Friday
• 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (7.5 hours/day)
• Some overtime and weekend work may be required during peak field periods.
• $26.00/hr
• Fun Summer working outside
