Engage in impactful genomic research with the GEN-IMPACT initiative. This opportunity invites African-led teams to propose studies addressing significant health issues within APCC cohort populations.
The GEN-IMPACT program, coordinated by the Science for Africa Foundation and APCC, invites expressions of interest for genomic studies by August 14, 2026. It aims to enhance representation in genomic datasets and respond to local health needs. Teams are sought to partner with established cohorts, integrating robust health data with innovative research methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify local APCC cohorts for collaboration
• Develop genomic sub-study concepts addressing health challenges
• Collaborate with cohort investigators on study design
• Propose strategies to enhance genomic data representation
• Assess infrastructure readiness for implementation
Requirements:
• Must be led by an African institution or consortium
• Research teams must involve APCC cohort leadership
• Longitudinal participant data must be nested within APCC cohorts
• Evidence of substantive collaboration with cohort investigators
• Expertise in genomics, epidemiology, or data science preferred
Contribute to genomic advancements and public health using African cohort data.
