Field Research Technician

Position: Field Research Technician at University of Alberta
Become a Field Research Technician with the University of Alberta and contribute to vital agricultural research. This in-person role covers diverse responsibilities from equipment maintenance to drone operations.

This temporary position at the Cropping Systems Research Group, under Dr. Linda Gorim, involves a range of activities in agricultural research. You will support field studies, manage logistics, ensure accurate data collection, and oversee a team of up to 10 people. This role is suited for individuals with significant experience in plot agricultural research and equipment operation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in seeding and maintaining research plots

• Organize harvest operations with appropriate equipment

• Coordinate teams for data collection and sample processing

• Train staff in field and lab procedures

• Operate drones for data collection across various locations

Requirements:

• BSc in agriculture, biology, or related field

• Minimum four years in small plot research

• Ability to operate drones for data collection

• Experience with agricultural equipment operation

• Competence in data analysis and documentation
